When you need bulk transcription
Manually copying URLs and running transcript jobs one at a time works for a handful of videos. But when you need to process an entire collection — 20, 50, or 100 TikTok posts — you need a batch workflow that handles the queue for you.
Common scenarios for bulk transcription include: building a competitor research dataset, archiving a content series, creating a swipe file of hooks, or extracting captions from a client's entire public video library for repurposing.
What you need
- A public TikTok collection URL (or a list of individual video URLs)
- A TokCaption account — create a free account
- Sufficient job credits for the number of videos in the collection
TokCaption detects the collection, previews all videos, and queues them for extraction.
Each video is processed independently. Caption tracks are extracted and converted to timestamped text.
Export the full batch as combined CSV, individual SRT/VTT files, or clean JSON via the API.
Step 1: Get the collection share link
Open TikTok and navigate to the public collection you want to transcribe. This can be your own saved collection or a public collection shared by another creator. Tap the share button on the collection page and copy the link.
If you do not have a collection URL but have a list of individual video URLs, you can paste them all into TokCaption's batch input field — one URL per line.
Step 2: Import into TokCaption
Log into your TokCaption workspace. In the input area, paste the collection URL. TokCaption will:
- Detect that the URL points to a collection (not a single video)
- Fetch the collection metadata and list all videos
- Show you a preview of the videos included so you can confirm before processing
Review the preview list. You can deselect specific videos if you only want a subset transcribed. When ready, click Transcribe All to start the batch.
Step 3: Monitor batch progress
Each video processes as an independent job. The workspace shows a progress indicator for the overall batch. Most individual jobs complete in seconds, so a 20-video collection typically finishes in under a minute.
If any video lacks an accessible caption track, it will show a no-captions status without blocking the remaining jobs in the queue.
Step 4: Export results in bulk
Once all jobs complete, you have several export options:
- Combined CSV — all transcripts in one spreadsheet with columns for video URL, creator, timestamp, and caption text. Ideal for analysis workflows.
- Individual SRT/VTT files — one subtitle file per video, packaged as a zip download. Useful for importing into video editors.
- JSON via API — programmatic access to all transcript data with clean structured output for custom integrations.
Tips for large collections
- Check your plan limits — free accounts have 5 jobs per day. Collections with more videos require a paid plan.
- Use workspace folders — organize bulk results into named folders so you can find them later when working across multiple projects.
- Combine with the Hook Scorer — after bulk extraction, run the Hook Scorer agent across all transcripts to quickly identify the strongest openers in the set.
Bulk transcription via the API
For teams building automated workflows, TokCaption's JSON API accepts batch requests with multiple URLs in a single call. The API returns structured transcript data that integrates directly into content pipelines, research databases, or internal tools.

Frequently asked questions
What is a TikTok collection?
A TikTok collection is a curated set of saved videos that a user has organized into a named folder. Public collections are accessible via a share link and can be imported into TokCaption for bulk processing.
How many videos can I bulk transcribe at once?
Free accounts process 5 transcript jobs per day. Paid plans support higher batch limits, allowing you to process an entire collection of 20, 50, or more videos in a single session.
Does bulk transcription cost more than individual jobs?
Each video in a bulk batch counts as one transcript job against your daily or plan limit. There is no extra charge for using the bulk import feature itself.
What happens if some videos in the collection have no captions?
TokCaption processes each video independently. Videos with accessible caption tracks produce transcripts. Videos without captions return a no-captions result — they do not block the rest of the batch.
Can I export all transcripts at once after bulk processing?
Yes. After the batch completes, you can select all results and export them together as a combined CSV, individual SRT files, or other supported formats.
